BLOOMING MARVELOUS COMPETITION
BELLA THE BEE KIDS CLUB
In 2013, 11yr old Millie Raines won the centre’s ‘Design a Mascot’ competition with her winning design of Belle the Bee. Since then Bella has represented the centre at all events and in 2015, we have now created the Bella the Bee Kids Club and are inviting all children to join. It is free to join in and there are some great reasons why you should;
- A Bella the Bee personalised membership certificate.
- Advanced notice of any children’s events.
- A birthday card from Bella.
- Relevant offers and promotions from retailers.
- Exclusive members discounts from retailers – subject to availability.
All you have to do to join is ask for a membership form from any member of customer service staff or they will be available at all events held in the centre.
LIVE PERFORMANCE ARTIST
Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August
A talented caricaturist and portrait artist will be in the centre creating wonderful drawings of shoppers.Shoppers can buy a caricature or portrait of themselves with a percentage of proceeds going to Zoe’s Place, Belle Vale Shopping Centre’s chosen charity.
This event will be held in the central mall area.
Saturday 1st August – Saturday 22nd August
Shoppers are invited to share photos of their gardens on Facebook to win a hamper of gardening goods from retailers.
Bella’s Busy Bees – Share your Kid’s Creation Competition
Saturday 22nd August – Saturday 5th September
Proud parents are invited to post photos of the plant pots and bird feeders made at the workshops, in situ in their own gardens. The winner will receive a back to school hamper.

SUMMER CRAFT WORKSHOP
Saturday 8TH August 2015
Continuing with our summer themed activities, children will have the opportunity to decorate their very own plant pot or bird feeder.
Also, as part of the workshop, there will be photosynthesis charts and wildlife food chains designed by Shoppertainment’s creative team. Children will have the opportunity to colour these charts in and take home with them, which gives them the chance to learn something new . This workshop will be located in the central mall area, is FREE to participate and all children are welcome.
BLOSSOM BUDDIES APPEARANCE
Throughout the summer holidays, Belle Vale Shopping Centre will be hosting interactive activities for the whole family including; character appearances, workshops and competitions.The theme of this summer’s campaign is ‘Bella’s Busy Bees’; that is aimed at encouraging children to explore and learn new skills as well as inspiring adults to makeover their homes and gardens with inspiration from the centre’s retailers.
The first event is on Saturday 25th July which features a visit from a pair of colourful petal people. These have proven to be a big hit with children and adults alike and fit perfectly with the theme of this summer’s events. They perform a generous five 30 minute walkabouts in the centre, so there will be entertainment out on the mall all day. They will also be handing out entry forms to Bella the Bee’s kids club to encourage children to join the club.
FATHERS DAY COMPETITION
For Father’s Day 2015, Belle Vale Shopping Centre’s Facebook page hosted a fun and simple competition which was suitable for shoppers of all ages.
The giveaway took the form of a ‘Like and Share’ competition and shoppers had the chance to win a watch, courtesy of Discount Gold. The competition encouraged shoppers to interact and leave comments on why their Dad deserved to win and resulted in over 100 Facebook users talking about the competition.
The winner was Ellie Murray, from Belle Vale who left a heartfelt message for Dad, thanking him for all his support.
The centre has launched the ‘Community Corner’ following the success of the ‘Big Little Library’ Project with Gateacre School. This designated area has been made available to the local community as a way to engage & interact with the centre’s visitors whilst offering helpful information and advice.
On Wednesdays between 10am & 12pm, Rev Jane McKelvey uses this area to meet with people & offer support to anyone who is in need.
Belle Vale Police will hold their surgery at various times through the year.
The little library is located in this booth and is free for anyone to use. We only ask that you keep it tidy and donate any books when you have finished with them. there is a yellow box on the mall for the donation of books or you can simply add them to the shelves. This is a free service and we are keen to keep it active indefinitely, todate the centre has supported the exchange of over 10,000 books to the local community which has proved how popular this type of facility is.
INDEPENDENTS DAY 2015
Belle Vale Shopping Centre will once again host the annual ‘Independents Day’ event to promote enterprise and business startups! The convention is FREE to the public and organised by Liverpool City Council. The event will be taking place on Friday 3rd July from 10am – 3pm.
Exhibition stands will be set up on the main mall by a range of organizations and professionals. The public are invited to come along and pick the brains of these experts, who have a wealth of experience and can advise on a range of career topics. These specialists are on hand to discuss how you can get your business off the ground and how to become job ready. Advice will be provided on business planning, funding, marketing and qualifications on a broad range of subjects.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness within the local community about the business services that are available to them. It will provide information on local training and further education where individuals can gain the skills and qualifications to build a business or become job ready. There is also the chance to discuss opportunities within Belle Vale Shopping Centre as the scheme currently has fantastic space, store units and retail merchandising units available, to help businesses reach out to new customers.
Paul Wilson, Centre Manager said; “We have seen an increase in small independents over the recent years and this is a fantastic opportunity for these businesses to find out what avenues there are out there to support their business growth. I am really pleased that Belle Vale Shopping Centre is going to play a part in enterprise within the community.”
Following the success of the ‘BIG Little Library’ the centre has launched the ‘Community Corner’ on the Park Mall, opposite the public toilets. This area will be used for community related projects and also houses the Shopping Center’s Little Library.
Every Wednesday between 10am & 12pm, Rev Jane visits the centre and is happy to chat to anyone who feels down or just needs someone to talk to. In addition, throughout the year, Belle Vale Police will hold their Police surgery at various times, giving all the locals an opportunity to share their concerns. Times & dates will be advertised on the notice board.
The Little Library is a “take a book, return a book, donate a book” gathering place where the community can share their favourite literature and stories. This facility is free for everyone to use and all we ask in return is that you bring back the book once read or donate any unwanted books, so that we can keep this facility going.
